Manual Therapy
Revive Physiotherapy & Wellness
Manual therapy is the passive movement of joints or soft tissue by a Registered Physiotherapist. This passive technique can vary in speed and amplitude, depending on the severity of the injury. Manual therapy can be used to reduce pain, increase joint range of motion, and reduce muscle spasms.
Acupuncture and Dry Needling
Revive Physiotherapy & Wellness
Acupuncture is the use of fine needles on specific points along the body’s meridians. Meridians are ancient energy flow patterns throughout the body. This technique not only restores energy balance but also creates a release of endorphins in the tissues resulting in the promotion of healing, reduction of pain and muscles spasms, and increase range of motion. Our team is highly skilled and certified through Acupuncture Canada. Dry needling is the use of fine needles to target trigger points and tight tissues throughout the body. Using repetitive stimulation, this technique causes a reflex in the muscle that allows the muscle to release. Benefits of dry needling are reduction of pain, decreased muscle tension and increased circulation to the area allowing healing to accelerate.
Exercise Presciption
Revive Physiotherapy & Wellness
Every injury is different which means that an effective rehab plan should be tailored specifically to the individual as well as the injury. Our team uses targeted movements and exercises to stretch tight structures as well as increase muscle tone, strength and hypertrophy. Prescribed exercises uniquely tailored to your activities of daily living (ADLs) put you on the most efficient track to enjoying a more active and healthy lifestyle.
Massage Therapy
Revive Physiotherapy & Wellness
Massage therapy is the hands-on manipulation of structures in the body such as fascia, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Benefits of massage therapy include the reduction of tension in tissues, increased circulation, reduction of pain through the release of endorphins, and decreased muscle spasms. All of our therapists are Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) certified in Ontario.
Custom Orthotics
Revive Physiotherapy & Wellness
During our everyday movements and activities, forces are transmitted throughout our bodies. Poor posture and improper alignment can cause undue stress or strain on the feet, ankles, knees, hips, and lower back. Custom orthotics are devices that are inserted into footwear to support or correct the function of all the joints named above. These devices allow us to manipulate or reposition the structures to improve congruity of the body, allowing for harmony.
Bracing
Revive Physiotherapy & Wellness
Revive Physiotherapy offers a wide variety of off-the-shelf and custom orthopedic bracing that works to offload stress on the joint and prevent painful movement. Our physiotherapists will prescribe custom tailored braces unique to your specific injury to assist in joint stability and protection, as well as improving function.
K-Taping
Revive Physiotherapy & Wellness
K-Taping was developed by Japanese chiropractor, Dr. Kenzo Kase, in the late 1970s with the intention to alleviate pain and improve the healing in soft tissues. K-Taping is the strategic application of Kinesio Tape to offload tissue stress, reduce myofascial pain, and limit aggravating postures or movements. In addition, K-Taping can help with neural tissue unloading and will also provide a bracing effect on the joint.
Vestibular Rehabilitation (Dizziness and Vertigo)
Revive Physiotherapy & Wellness
Our sense of balance is intricately connected to the body’s vestibular system, which is located in the inner ear. When this system is compromised, the body elicits symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, and loss of balance. Our therapists are trained to complete full assessments on the vestibular system, and through manipulation of the head and neck, we can reset structures that provide faulty information to the brain. Benefits of vestibular rehabilitation include a reduction in dizziness and nausea, fewer migraines, reduction in neck pain, and improved balance.
Pelvic floor physiotherapy
(includes post-partum checkups and programs)
Revive Physiotherapy & Wellness

Pelvic floor physiotherapy (PFTP) is aimed at helping women improve and rehabilitate their pelvic floor muscles. Muscles of this kind may be weakened due to various activities and circumstances, including childbirth, surgery, heavy lifting, being overweight, constipation or menopause.

The practice of a pelvic floor physiotherapist involves both internal and external assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor muscles located between the hip bones and the sacrum. These muscles serve as a bowl to support pelvic organs including the bladder, colon and uterus.

Pelvic dysfunction tends to worsen over time. Pelvic issues including pain or sexual disfunction are addressed more easily early on. For this reason, it is important to consult a physiotherapist at the earliest sign of pelvic pain or symptoms.

TMJ (temporomandibular joint, or “jaw”) physiotherapy
Revive Physiotherapy & Wellness
Muscle spasms are often at the heart of TMJ issues and serve to prevent the TMJ from recovering. A TMJ physiotherapist will assess the muscles of your TMJ to help reduce these muscle spasms. Often, manual therapy techniques are applied to the TMJ to help improve joint alignment and movement. For patients, this will ultimately translate to less pain and healthy working TMJ.
